Hafiz (/ˈhɑːfɪz/; Arabic: حافظ, romanized: ḥāfiẓ, حُفَّاظ, pl. ḥuffāẓ, حافظة f. ḥāfiẓa), literally meaning “guardian” or “memorizer”, depending on the context, is a term used by Muslims for someone who has completely memorized the Quran. Hafiza is the female equivalent.
